Ground Search Operations

Laying Trails for Our Dogs

SDAOA has ongoing annual needs. Our dedicated handlers spend money from their own pockets to attend and provide seminar training, travel to training and searches, pay for overnight stays in hotels, all in addition to the annual funding needed just to maintain healthy dogs. We would greatly appreciate any help you can offer, so any size contribution is most welcome. We aslo have a "Wish List" for specific items our teams have found would be useful for supporting our dog teams. Because our handlers and support members all provide completely free, volunteer services to law enforcement and the citizens of our state, we like to offer as much compensation for their expenses as possible.

Although we try to run as lean an operation as possible, the team does require technological support items such as mapping software, GPS units, radios, and other items to effectively manage and run a search. These items also make searching more efficient and safer. The bottom lives is more lives saved with fewer lives risked. Your contributions to SDAOA are vital to providing our unit-owned equipment.
